Acrylic Bilum by Julie Thomas

This bilum was made by Julie Thomas who weaves with the Jaukaue Bilum Products cooperative, based in Goroka in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea. This is a diamond design and uses acrylic and recycled fibre which the weavers have been experimenting with of late. We are starting to see some lovely metallics coming through, and this one is a great example— but the photo does not do it justice as it has not picked up the fine metallics in the thread.
