This colourful square natural fibre bilum has been made by a woman from Wewak which is the capital of the Sepik region situated on the Northern coast of Papua New Guinea. It has been made by collecting fibre which is twisted into string and dyed using natural dies that are extracted from plants and berries. The pattern is a “blind” pattern.
