Legeuna Fibre Bilum by Wanama

This Legeuna fibre bilum was made by Wanama who weaves with the Kate Hauslain cooperative, in Okapa in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea. This is a diamond design and is made from Legeuna fibre and natural dyes.

The weavers spend several days walking into Goroka every few months to trade and sell their bilums and coffee for medicine, sugar and oil along with other items that they can’t get in their remote village.

Natural Fibre bilums are made from small trees and the weavers use natural plant based dyes and as such are not designed to get wet. Please keep them dry.
